Lodging
Cradled beneath the jungle canopy, steps away from the beach, lies
Camp Costa's eco lodge. This exotic, screened lodge with it's raised
hard wood floors and traditional palm laced roofs emulates the soul
of the Camp Costa experience. The lodge contains picnic and lounge areas,
hammocks, two large bathrooms and showers, and a restaurant style kitchen.
There are four privately sectioned off sleeping quarters each containing
two oversized bunk beds, sleeping three campers and one counselor of
the same gender in each section.
Our wonderful chef will provide three fulfilling meals a day and the
kitchen is always open for snacks and cold beverages. Meals consist
of fresh picked fruits (mangos, papayas, pineapples, bananas, avocados
etc.), fresh eggs, fresh fish caught daily, pastas, traditional beans
and rice, salads, deserts etc. So relax in the hammocks and watch the
monkeys as they play in the trees that surround you!
Lisa Stalvey has been cooking for over thirty years. As luck would have it, she “fell” into an apprenticeship with Wolfgang Puck at the original Ma Maison restaurant in West Hollywood. After a successful one year engagement, she took an apprenticeship with L’Orangerie. Following that, she worked at several famous restaurants including: Pastel, Les Anges with Patrick Jamon, La Toque with Ken Frank and then as the chef of Beau Rivage. Following her many successes, she had an opportunity to work with Wolfgang Puck again, and went back to work as a line cook at the Sunset Spago restaurant. After two and a half years, she became the head chef. She received awards two years in a row for being one of the Top 100 Chef’s in America. She has since been a consultant for Newman’s Own, creating two new sauces for the Company. She has also written two cookbooks. Lisa’s true passion however, is scuba-diving, and snowboarding! She loves Camp Costa’s tropical setting and enjoys creating new and exciting dishes with all of the fresh and tasty fruits, vegetables, and fish that are available in Matapalo.
